Discrimination of Regular and Irregular Rhythms Explained by a Time Difference Accumulation Model

چکیده

• Irregular rhythms are identified by accumulating timing information. Accumulation of information occurs without leak. A detection model fails to account for the behavioral results. The accuracy auditory pulses excels visual or tactile stimuli. Perceiving temporal regularity in a sequence repetitive sensory events facilitates preparation and execution relevant behaviors with tight constraints. How we estimate from repeating patterns stimuli is not completely understood. We developed decision-making task which participants had decide whether train visual, auditory, pulses, regular an irregular pattern. tested hypothesis that subjects categorize as time differences between predicted observed times defining rhythm. Results suggest instead waiting single large deviation, accumulate timing-error signals judge pattern when amount evidence reaches decision threshold. Model fits bounded integration showed this accumulation negligible leak evidence. Consistent previous findings, show perform better evaluating compared Our results estimated comparing expected measured pulse onset times, each prediction error accumulated towards threshold generate choice.

Regular Expressions for Irregular Rhythms

Motivated by the desire to verify the correctness of algorithms for arrhythmia discrimination used in cardiac medical devices, we present a general wavelet-based characterization of peaks (local maxima and minima) that occur in cardiac electrograms, along with two peak-detection algorithms based on this characterization. Peak detection (PD) is a common signal-processing task, as peaks indicate ...

A physiologically based model of interaural time difference discrimination.

Interaural time difference (ITD) is a cue to the location of sounds containing low frequencies and is represented in the inferior colliculus (IC) by cells that respond maximally at a particular best delay (BD). Previous studies have demonstrated that single ITD-sensitive cells contain sufficient information in their discharge patterns to account for ITD acuity on the midline (ITD = 0). If ITD d...

a study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market

the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.

Analysis of hydrofoil craft in regular and irregular waves

In this article, the most important specifications of hydrofoil floats, i.e. their seakeeping under regular and irregular waves under different encounter angles of wave, has been investigated. Numerical simulation has been done using STAR CCM+ software. Surge, heave, roll and pitch motions are kept free at the same time and their effects on each other are taken into account. USV01 model, whose ...

A graphical difference between the inverse and regular semigroups

In this paper we investigate the Green‎ ‎graphs for the regular and inverse semigroups by considering the‎ ‎Green classes of them‎. ‎And by using the properties of these‎ ‎semigroups‎, ‎we prove that all of the five Green graphs for the‎ ‎inverse semigroups are isomorphic complete graphs‎, ‎while this‎ ‎doesn't hold for the regular semigroups‎. ‎In other words‎, ‎we prove‎ ‎that in a regular se...
